What is an ‘Electronic Circuit’
In cooking for preparing any DISH we require different ingredients like salt,vegetable,spices,sugar,floor and so many things. Mixture of all ingredients makes a ‘Dish’ . In electronics Combination of electronic components makes an ‘Electronic Circuit’. In technical manner,the interconnection of different electronic components is called as ‘Electronic Circuit’.The drawing on paper showing all electronic symbols and their interconnection is called circuit diagram.
Various Circuit Building Platforms
There are many ways and many platforms to create an electronic circuit such as we can create it on printed circuit boards, Bread boards etc.
Using Bread Board
Circuits can be build with the help of bread board also. This does not permits permanent connection. Most of the time this platform is used for testing purpose. Connection can be modified easily.We can choose any platform according to our requirements. Bread boards are used for testing circuits. It is the prototype model of circuit.
Using Printed Circuit Boards
Printed Circuit Boards i.e. PCB is very popular method used for manufacturing of any electronics circuit. It is a method in which permanent connection of components is permitted. In this case you have test your circuit properly before mounting it on PCB.
Series and parallel Connections in Circuit:
Components of an Electronic Circuit can be connected in many different ways.The two simplest of these are called Series and Parallel and occur very frequently.
In Series Connections Components connected in series are connected along a single path, so the same Current flows through all of the components.A circuit composed solely of components connected in series is known as a Series Circuit.In a series circuit, the current through each of the components is the same, and the Voltage across the circuit is the sum of the voltages across each component.

Components connected in parallel are connected so the same Voltage is applied to each component.A circuit composed solely of components connected in Parallel is known as a Parallel Circuit. In a parallel circuit, the voltage across each of the components is the same, and the total current is the sum of the currents through each component.

Electronics circuits are of several types and can be used for so many purpose. For example it can be used as security alarms, to display messages, to control any robot etc. In next lesson, we will learn how to build actual electronics circuits using a platform……
